READY TO LEARN WORKSHOP AT SPRINGFIELD COLLEGE

   Springfield College School of Human Services, Umbrella and NEKCA will collaborate to host one of Vermont Public Television’s Ready to Learn Workshops. NCUJHS SPRING CONCERT IN NEWPORT

ALZHEIMER’S EDUCATION PROGRAM IN NEWPORT

   The Alzheimer’s Association of Vermont is offering a six-hour education program for families and friends of those with the disease or related disorder. The program is offered in two Wednesday sessions: May 21 and 28, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Medical Arts Building Conference Room, adjacent to North Country Hospital. Families should plan to attend both sessions. The cost for both nights is $10 per person or $20 per family regardless of size. JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT IN BARTON

   The eighth grade class at the Albany Community School will be holding an ice cream social from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Barbecue hot dogs and hamburgers will also be sold. The proceeds will go to the eighth grade class trip to Washington, DC.

 

CRAFTS & GARDEN FAIR IN HARDWICK

   The Hardwick Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its twenty-fifth annual Craft and Garden Fair on Saturday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hardwick Elementary School. There will be a $25 shopping voucher drawn each hour, prizes, food, and fun. The Hardwick Kiwanis Spring Festival is also taking place at this time.

ANCIENT ROADS WORKSHOP IN BROWNINGTON

   An Ancient Roads Workshop will be held Saturday, May 24, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the Brownington Historic District. The Orleans County Historical Society, which runs the Old Stone House Museum, has assembled some of the most knowledgeable people in the state to explain Vermont Act 178, the so-called Ancient Roads Bill.    On Sunday, May 25, Pullin’ for Firemen will hold a tractor pull to benefit Northeast International Mutual Aid Association, which includes most fire departments in Orleans County.
