RUMMAGE SALE IN ORLEANS

   Chapter Michaud No. 395, in Orleans, is sponsoring a Rummage Sale on Thursday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to noon, at St. Theresa’s Parish Hall in Orleans. MOTHER-SON APPRECIATION DANCE IN NEWPORT

   A Mother-Son Appreciation Dance will be held Friday, May 9, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Gateway Center on the waterfront in Newport. This is a special dress-up dance and party for boys in kindergarten through age 12. Dancing, prizes, refreshments, and entertainment by DJ Double Trouble. GREEN MOUNTAIN UNITED WAY OF BARTON JOINING POSTAL FOOD DRIVE

   On Saturday, May 10, the Green Mountain United Way of Barton is assisting letter carriers in local post offices in the Barton, Derby Line, and Newport post offices to participate in a food drive for the benefit of local food shelves. People are asked to donate nonperishable food items on that day. Place your items in a sturdy bag or box near your mailbox and the letter carriers will pick them up.
