CRAFTSBURY CHAMBER PLAYERS PRESENT CONCERT IN HARDWICK

   The Craftsbury Chamber Players will present a concert on Thursday, August 7, at 8 p.m., at Hardwick Town House. Works by Bunch, Stravinsky, and Schumann. DERBY LINE DAYS

   Derby Line Days will be held Friday, August 8 and Saturday, August 9, in Derby Line. Crafters and artisans will be at the Derby Line Village Hall on August 8 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Events will also take place at the Haskell Opera House. A day of fun will begin Saturday in Baxter Park and surrounding venues in the village at 10 a.m. The day’s events will begin at 8 a.m. with a village-wide yard sale and end with a fireworks display at dusk. COMMUNITY PRINTING SESSIONS AT B&P FARM

   Bread and Puppet is offering the third of four open printing sessions for the community on Friday, August 8, at 7 p.m., at the Bread and Puppet Farm on Route 122 in Glover. “HORSE POWER” AT OLD STONE HOUSE DAY IN BROWNINGTON

   “Horse Power” is the theme of the annual Old Stone House Day at the museum in Brownington on Sunday, August 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free with a small donation requested for parking. Teams of horses will be plowing, harrowing, mowing and raking hay, and skidding logs. You can take a ride in a stagecoach, a carriage, or wagon for a small fee. The new exhibit on “Horse Transportation” will be open, along with the one-day exhibit of the Mobile Harness Racing Museum. There will also be free tours of the Old Stone House Museum, demonstrations of old-time trades and crafts, a farmers market, craft sales, displays from town historical societies, internet genealogy searches, children’s activities, and music by Country Pure and Simple. Lunch can be purchased from the Brownington Ladies Aid.

   A free Breast Cancer Awareness Luncheon will be held Saturday, August 23, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Tranquil Gardens on the North Jay Road in North Troy. Open to all women. Guests will enjoy a buffet lunch, hear guest speaker Rachael Pelletier share information about preventive care, and participate in the unveiling of our “Heaven on Earth Rose Garden.” Pre-registration is required by August 14 for lunch count. BORDER LINE RIDGE RIDERS ATV CLUB SELLING RAFFLE TICKETS

   The Border Line Ridge Riders ATV Club is now selling raffle tickets for a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 400. There will only be 125 tickets sold. The drawing will take place on September 20 at the North Troy American Legion. Ticket holders will receive dinner for two and there will be other prizes awarded throughout the evening. REGISTER FOR DERBY POND 5/10K WALKATHON

   The fourth annual Derby Pond 5/10K Walkathon to benefit Dailey Memorial Library will be held Saturday, September 9. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Walkathon starts at 8:30 a.m. Registration fee is $15 and all who register by August 15 will receive a free T-shirt. REGISTER FOR POND-A-THON FAMILY FUN RUN IN ISLAND POND

   The Pond-a-thon family fun run around the lake of Island Pond will be held Labor Day Weekend, Sunday, August 31. All ability runners, walkers, and bikers are welcome. “Full pond” is 5.5 miles, “Half Pond” is 2.5 miles. T-shirt guaranteed if you register by Friday, August 15. Prize raffle, water tables, and finish line snacks. Adults $15, youth up to age 12 is $10, under 5 free.    Any donations to the Clan of the Hawk Thrift Store in Evansville are most welcome. They accept most anything and are open most of the time.
