Edward G. Worth
Edward G. Worth, 63, of Island Pond died peacefully June 14, 2008, in Newport.
Mr. Worth was born July 16, 1944, in Newport, a son of Ina (Wolcott) Worth and Delmond Worth.
He was an English teacher at North Country Union High School in Newport for eight years.
He enjoyed talking to people and sharing stories.
He is survived by two children, Samuel and Lillian Worth, of Norwich; by his mother, Ina Worth, of Island Pond; by his brother Barry Worth of Knowlton, Quebec; and by his sister Barbara Daniels and her husband, Dennis, of St. Johnsbury.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, at the Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Island Pond with the Reverend Robert Castle officiating. Interment will follow in the Island Pond Cemetery.

Paul F. Ronk
Paul F. Ronk, 89, of Lake Worth, Florida, formerly of Newport, died suddenly on March 4, 2008, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
Mr. Ronk was born August 9, 1918, in Dayton to Frank and Cora Whitlock.
He was predeceased by his parents; by his brother Clifford Ronk; by his sister Mary Hardin; and by son-in-law John Sukola III.
He is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Beverly; by his children: Sharon Sukola, Donna Stephans, Carol Ronk, and Paul Ronk; by his stepchildren: Charles Norton, Robert Norton, Susan Leavitt, Debra Kerr, Johanna Milhesier, and Judith Love; and by several loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a man of God. He loved the Lord and always spoke of Him in terms of peace and salvation.
He met his wife in Florida, where they resided for some years. They moved to Vermont so his wife could be near her children.
He enjoyed going to the Derby Church of God and to Northern State Correctional Facility in Newport to talk to the inmates.
One of his greatest loves was that of his wife. He moved back to Florida so they could relive where they had once started.
He wrote in his final days a letter that said his wife had given him reason to live and the last 24 years were the happiest years of his life. There is no greater love than that of a soul mate.
Committal services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 20, at Mead Hill Cemetery in Holland. All family and friends are asked to attend.

Wilfred Paul LeBlanc
Wilfred Paul LeBlanc, 81, of Newport died peacefully June 12, 2008, in Newport.
Mr. LeBlanc was born September 29, 1926, in Jay, a son of Joseph and Leda (Theroux) LeBlanc.
On September 30, 1950, he married Yvette Campbell, who survives him.
He served in the Army and was a veteran of World War II.
He was a dairy farmer for seven years, and he owned and operated LeBlanc Barn Supply for 30 years.
He held membership with St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church, and he was a third- and fourth-degree member of Knights of Columbus Gibbons Council 2285 and Gibbons Assembly 1157. He was a member of American Legion Post 21 of Newport.
He and his wife enjoyed camping and traveling to Florida in their motor home.
They adopted twin boys, Alfred and Anthony, in 1953.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Yvette; by his son Anthony of Reno, Nevada; by his brothers Gaston LeBlanc of North Troy and Leonard LeBlanc and his wife, Joyce, of Wesley Chapel, Florida; by his sister Juliette Bourne of Morrisville; by his sister-in-law Georgette LeBlanc of Troy; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his son Alfred in 1992; by two half-brothers, Albert Boulay and Armand Boulay; by his sister Anita Carstarphen; and by his brother Laurent LeBlanc.
Funeral services were held June 17 at St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church in Newport with the Reverend Yvon Royer celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Newport with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. LeBlanc’s memory may be made to the St. Mary’s Church Renovation Fund, 191 Clermont Circle, Newport, Vermont 05855.

Lila Duval Lamoureux
Lila Duval Lamoureux, 93, of Island Pond died peacefully June 14, 2008, in Burlington.
Mrs. Lamoureux was born in Newport on May 4, 1915, a daughter of Charles and Maude (Briggs) Duval.
She was predeceased by two brothers, baby Leon and Floyd.
She graduated from Newport High School in 1934. On June 30, 1935, she married Victor Lamoureux in Christ Episcopal Church in Island Pond. In 1985, the couple celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary with their many friends and relatives. Mr. Lamoureux died in 1986 after a yearlong battle with cancer.
The couple was blessed with the birth of their son Brent, who, with his wife, Joanne, survives her. She is survived by grandson Craig Lamoureux and his companion, Manasseh Tourigny, of Colchester; by granddaughter Sarah Ricker and her husband, Jeromey, of Johnson; and by nieces and nephews: Louise Savary, Diane Coughlin, Dennis Duval, Michael Duval, and Jean Crawford.
In 1974, she and her husband sold their home in Island Pond, and Mr. Lamoureux built an A-frame in Brunswick, where they spent summers for ten years. They spent winters in Largo, Florida. They moved back to Island Pond to be near doctors and the hospital.
After her husband died, she spent eight years in Sunrise Manor in Island Pond. In 2004 she moved to Huntington with her son and daughter-in-law Brent and Joanne Lamoureux, who took care of her with loving care and kindness for three years.
In November 2006 she moved into Starr Farm Nursing Home in Burlington.
She worked for New England Telephone and Telegraph for ten years. She was assistant town clerk for the town of Brighton for ten years and worked for the Selective Service in Montpelier for two years.
She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Island Pond for 70 years. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the Island Pond’s Women’s Club, the Random Ladies, the Club Nine Investment Club, and the Sunrise Manor Seniors, of which she served as secretary to all.
Funeral services were held June 17 at Christ Episcopal Church with the Reverend Brendan Whittaker officiating. Interment followed in Lakeside Cemetery, where members of American Legion Auxiliary 81 conducted a prayer service.

Patricia “Patsy” T. Barrup
Patricia “Patsy” T. Barrup, 77, of Newport died peacefully June 12, 2008, in Newport.
Mrs. Barrup was born July 7, 1930, in St. Johnsbury, a daughter of Harold and Clara (Davis) Turner.
On July 21, 1951, she married Howard Barrup, who survives her.
She was a telephone operator for New England Telephone and Telegraph for ten years. In 1967 she was a cook and cashier at the North Country Union High School cafeteria until her retirement.
In her earlier years, she enjoyed racing cars; she lead a full and active life.
She held membership with the Vermont Gas and Steam Engine Association; she enjoyed traveling and meeting new friends.
She is survived by three sons: Steven Barrup and his wife, Sue, of Newport Center, Stuart Barrup and his wife, Bonnie, of West Charleston, and Bradley Barrup and his wife, Joann, of Newport; by grandchildren: Melissa, Gretchen, Thomas, and Adam Barrup and Jaime Roy; by two great-granddaughters, Alexis and Ashlyn; by her brother Graydon C. Turner of El Paso, Texas; and by three nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Harold Turner.
A funeral service was held June 17 at a Curtis-Britch Converse-Rushford Funeral Home in Newport with the Reverend Alfred Nelson officiating. Interment followed in West Charleston Cemetery.
