On Saturday, August 21, several hundred people gathered in uncertain weather to rededication Derby's Veterans Park.  U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders and Vermont Governor James Douglas were present and spoke, and color guards from local veterans groups, the Border Patrol, North Country Union High School Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps and the Vermont Civil War Hemlocks came together to honor those who served their country throughout its history.
